7th International Rolling Stock, Infrastructure and Logistics Exhibition – Eurasia Rail hosted 11.949 visitors!
 
7th International Rolling Stock, Infrastructure and Logistics Exhibition – Eurasia Rail hosted 200 companies and 11.949 visitors from 25 countries. Eurasia Rail, which received great interest from national and international sector professionals, contributed to the development of new business and partnership opportunities within the sector. The exhibition, which was hosted by Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and Republic of Turkey State Railways, was also supported by TOBB, KOSGEB and Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economy.
 
Eurasia Rail, which has the characteristics of being “the only railway exhibition in Eurasia region and one of the three biggest railway exhibitions in the world”, gathered the railway sector on March 2-4 at Istanbul Expo Center. The conference program, which took place simultaneously with the exhibition, brought up the latest innovations, developments, technologies and investments in the sector.
 
International Rolling Stock, Infrastructure and Logistics Exhibition – Eurasia Rail, organized by EUF – E International Trade Fairs which is among the group companies of ITE Turkey which organizes leading exhibitions in leading sectors of Turkey, took place on March 2 – 4 2017 at Istanbul Expo Center within an area of 21.000 m2. The exhibition brought up the developments, innovations and investments in the sector with its conference program. The exhibition was supported by Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Republic of Turkey State Railways, The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey – TOBB, KOSGEB and Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economy.
 
The “Railway Panel” received great attention…
Within the scope of the conference which took place on the first day of the exhibition, the “Railway Panel”, which was moderated by Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Deputy Secretary Orhan Birdal, took place with UIC Vice President and TCDD Chairman of the Board & General Manager İsa Apaydın, UIC International Union of Railways General Manager Jean Pierre Loubinoux, Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) Executive Director Dr. Libor Lochman, Infrastructure Investments General Manager Erol Çıtak, Railway Regulation General Manager İbrahim Yiğit and TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. General Manager Veysi Kurt as speakers. The panel hosted the sharing of recent developments related to railway sector.
 
Within the conference program which took place on the second and third days of the exhibition with academicians, sector CSO’s, government agencies and senior officials of international companies, information related to “Public Transport’s Effect on National Economy”, “Institutionalization in Urban Public Transport”, “Automation”, “Safety”, “Energy Saving”, “Renewable Energy”, “Cost Reducing”, “New Production Techniques” and “Railway Safety: Automatic Line Warning Systems” was provided to the exhibitors and visitors at panels “Urban Rail System Problems”, “New Railway Regulation”, “Developments in Tractive and Hauled Stock”, “Railway Safety”, “Special Subjects on Railways”.
 
ITE Turkey Transport & Logistics Group Director Moris Revah: “Eurasia Rail, which gathers professional visitors with leading producing companies of the sector and provides them with the opportunity to closely observe innovations, has once again been a very productive platform for the railway sector. This year at Eurasia Rail, which we organized for the 7th time, 200 exhibitors and 11.949 visitors from 25 countries were brought together.  Among the targets of Turkish railway sector, there are plans to reach 25.000 km of total railway length by building 13.000 km of railway; 7.500 km of high-speed and 4.000 km of conventional railways. There are also targets of renewing 4.400 km of railway, completing the renewal of all lines, increasing the railway conveyance rate to 10% for passengers and 15% for freight and completing the liberalization process of the railway sector. With Eurasia Rail, we are aiming to support the sector in reaching its goals 10 years from now.”
 
Revah also revealed developments related to Eurasia Rail and the new exhibition project:As of 2019, we will be organizing Eurasia Rail once in two years in Izmir. Our sector will be able to exhibit products and services at a much wider area at fairrizmir. Our new project “Istanbul Rail Tech”, which we planned in line with the needs of the sector, will take place in 2018 and host the latest technologies in railway sector.”
 
The opening ceremony was conducted by Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication Vice President Yüksel Coşkunyürek, UIC International Union of Railways General Manager Jean Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Vice President and TCDD Chairman of the Board & General Manager İsa Apaydın, ITE Group Regional Manager Vincent Brain, ITE Turkey Member of the Board Burcu Başer and ITE Turkey Transport & Logistics Group Director Moris Revah.
