Atilla Keskin

Acting Operations Director TCDD Railway Research and Technology Center (DATEM)

He graduated from METU Department of Metallurgical Engineering in 1989. He did his master’s degree at METU Department of Material and Metallurgical Engineering in 1997. In 2005, he graduated from TODAIE Department of Public Administration with a master’s degree.
He has worked in various departments of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) for 28 years. Between 1990 and 2010, he worked as an engineer and manager at Ankara Railway Factory Quality Control Directorate. In addition to the maintenance and quality control of DE 24000, DE 11000 and DE 22000 diesel locomotive components, he has also worked in the reverse engineering of various diesel locomotive parts and fracture analyses of railway components.
He was a part of the founding team of TCDD Railway Research and Technology Center (DATEM) founded in 2010 to conduct R&D studies for railways. He has managed the foundation and accreditation of Material Engineering Services Directorate Laboratories (2015) and foundation of the Railway Resource Center Directorate (2017-ongoing). He has also had nine scientific articles published in international literature.  He took part in various research projects conducted within the body of TCDD and continues to research the fields of railway superstructure, rolling stock, rails, rail resource methods and damage analysis. He is married with two children and fluent in English.
