Structural Design Director Freysaş Freyssinet Yapı Sistemleri Sanayi A.Ş.

He graduated from METU Department of Civil Engineering in 2000. He received his master’s degree and doctorate with his thesis studies on “adherence-free posttensioned reinforced concrete” at the New Jersey Rutgers University in the USA in 2002 and 2007. During his doctorate studies, he worked in the design and experimental verification of the first steel bridge (Doremus) designed and built in line with the AASHTO-LRFD regulation that just came into effect in New Jersey.
In 2005, he worked in the design of various international high-rise, long-span, reinforced concrete and steel projects as a project manager at Leslie E. Robertson Associates (LERA) in New York. After returning to Turkey, he worked as an academician with the team of assistant professors for two years and has been working in at Freysaş Department of Structural Design since 2013.
As the head of the department, he provides technical and operational support for the design and construction of posttensioned building floors, posttensioned bridges, silos, insulators, bearers and custom-made structures (propulsion-driving, cable stay, balanced cantilever, heavy lifting etc.).
Dr. Özkul is a Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of California and experienced in the design of high-rise and long-span structures.
