Özgür Soy was born in 1970. Having finished his education at the German High School, he graduated from Boğaziçi University with a Mechanical Engineering Degree and obtained his Master’s Degree (MBA) from INSEAD. He received the Port Management Certificate Program thanks to the scholarship provided by the Singapore Government within the scope of the Singapore Cooperation Programme. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation at Istanbul Technical University. Özgür Soy, who had served at companies such as Kumport, Procter & Gamble, DHL, Schneider Electric, Arçelik, Borusan Lojistik, and Trenkwalder at executive level, delivered lectures on International Logistics Management at Yeditepe University and Uludağ University, and took part in numerous seminars in Europe and Middle East as a speaker. Özgür Soy, who was appointed as the General Director of Metro Istanbul under Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on 13 February 2020, is fluent in English and German.
